Our ophthalmologists hold full medical degrees followed by specialist surgical training. They diagnose and manage the complete range of ocular disease and liaise directly with surgical units when referral is required.

Dr. Stanley K. — Chief Ophthalmologist
Chief Ophthalmologist

Dr. Stanley K.

Qualifications: MBChB (Nairobi), FCS Ophthalmology (COSECSA), MMed Ophthalmology (Edinburgh).

Dr. Stanley leads the Neura-Sight clinical team with 18 years of specialist experience in anterior segment disease, diagnostic ophthalmology, and ocular surface management. He completed his Fellowship training in Edinburgh, Scotland, and has published research on early glaucoma detection biomarkers.

His clinical focus covers complex case management, medical glaucoma supervision, and the diagnostic work-up of patients with suspected optic neuropathy. He also oversees quality assurance for all diagnostic equipment calibration.

Dr. Florence O.

Qualifications: MBChB (Dar es Salaam), MMed Ophthalmology (Cape Town), Diploma in Paediatric Ophthalmology (London).

Dr. Florence specialises in the assessment and management of children's visual development and eye conditions. Her scope includes amblyopia (lazy eye), strabismus (squint), paediatric refractive management, and early detection of congenital ocular disease.

She brings a calm, child-centred consultation approach and extensive experience in adapting clinical techniques to paediatric patients from infancy through adolescence. She is a founding member of the East African Paediatric Eye Health Network.

Dr. Amara W.

Qualifications: MBChB (Makerere), DO Ophthalmology (KCMC), Fellowship in Medical Retina (Moorfields Eye Hospital, London).

Dr. Amara is our lead retinal specialist and brings Moorfields-trained expertise to the management of acquired retinal disease. Her primary clinical interests are diabetic macular oedema, age-related macular degeneration, and the interpretation of OCT imaging data.

She runs our retinal monitoring programme for diabetic patients in partnership with endocrinology units in Nairobi. She is an active contributor to the African Ophthalmology Council's clinical guidelines on diabetic eye disease screening protocols.

Qualifications: MBChB (Nairobi), FCS Ophthalmology, Vitreoretinal Fellowship (Aravind Eye Hospital, India).

Dr. Samuel's training at Aravind Eye Hospital — one of the world's highest-volume retinal surgical centres — has equipped him with exceptional depth in vitreoretinal imaging and medical management. At Neura-Sight, he specialises in peripheral retinal pathology and is our primary resource for urgent retinal presentations.

He sees patients presenting with flashes and floaters, new retinal holes or tears, and suspected retinal detachment, coordinating same-day surgical referral when indicated.

Our optometrists hold postgraduate qualifications in clinical optometry and are experienced in complex refraction, contact lens fitting, low vision assessment, and ocular disease monitoring.

Dr. Marcus T.

Specialist in complex refraction, keratoconus contact lens fitting, and progressive addition lens design. OD graduate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, FAAO Certified since 2012.

Dr. Marcus oversees the Neura-Sight optical dispensing unit and manages all complex contact lens cases including scleral and RGP fittings.

Specialising in paediatric optometry, binocular vision disorders, and amblyopia management. BSc Optometry (Hons), MSc Orthoptics & Vision Science.

Dr. Naomi conducts all school-age vision screening and manages children's spectacle prescriptions from pre-school age through adolescence.

Dr. James O.

Dr. James leads our low vision rehabilitation programme, providing magnification aids, electronic assistive devices, and adaptation strategies for patients whose visual impairment cannot be fully corrected by standard glasses.

He runs regular community outreach clinics and co-ordinates our free Saturday screening initiative. BSc Optometry, Postgraduate Diploma in Low Vision Rehabilitation.

All consultations are by appointment. We offer both in-person appointments and a limited number of virtual second-opinion consultations for review of existing clinical notes and imaging data.
